Stu Cook

Stu Cook is an American musician best known as the bassist for the rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR). Born on April 24, 1945, in Oakland, California, Cook played a significant role in shaping the band's sound, which blends rock, swamp pop, and roots music. Creedence Clearwater Revival, active from 1967 to 1972, produced numerous hits, including "Bad Moon Rising," "Fortunate Son," and "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?" The band's ability to address social and political issues through their music, combined with their catchy melodies, made them a defining act of the late 1960s and early 1970s. After CCR disbanded, Cook continued to work in music, forming the band Creedence Clearwater Revisited with fellow CCR member Doug Clifford, which performed CCR classics for years. His impact on music lies in his contribution to the development of American rock, especially through CCR's unique blend of genres that influenced countless artists in rock and Americana. Cook's work remains celebrated for its enduring popularity and cultural relevance.
